Harvest Tips - After about 60-65 days, fruits will begin to appear on your Celebrity plants. By 70 or so, they will be ripe and weigh in at about 8 ounces. Pick them as soon as they’re fully red. The sooner you remove fruits from the vine, the faster your plants will begin producing new ones, keeping the cycle going. Harvest by breaking the stem at the joint or by cutting it with sharp scissors or a knife.
Other Planting Tips - Celebrity is sometimes considered a semi-determinate tomato plant, because it grows to a certain height (3 to 4 feet) but continues to produce fruit all season until frost.
Available - 1/2 oz. and 1 oz. pkgs.
What's the difference between "Determinate" and Indeterminate"tomatoes?
Determinate or 'bush' varieties are bred to grow to about 4 ft. high. Perfect for containers! Tomatoes will all ripen at about the same time usually over a 2 week period and then the plant will not produce more.
Indeterminate or 'vining' varieties can grow to 12 ft. high. They will bloom, set new fruit and ripen fruit all at the same time throughout the entire growing season. They require caging or staking for support.
Tomatoes grow great when planted alongside asparagus, celery, carrot and especially marigolds as those pretty flowers help repel insects!
Tomatoes don't like corn, fennel and potatoes!
